Buyer Feature: Off Market Connection in the NW Hills
Recently, I had the privilege of helping truly wonderful clients secure a stunning home in Portland’s coveted Northwest Hills—a property that never officially hit the market…
There are new residents on NW Cumberland Road! The story about this epic property began in the DM’s of my Instagram account. I’ve known "N" for several years and absolutely adored helping her and her mother every time they came into the Salem, Ore., Nordstrom long ago when I was styling there. (As an interesting tidbit, that location is gone now, having been converted into condo’s the last few years).
"N" and I kept in touch lightly over the years through Instagram, and I was thrilled to receive a personal message from her one afternoon asking to connect about finding a Portland house to purchase. "N" and her husband "O" lived out of state, and coordinating their trip and visit to tour homes was an incredible effort on their part, driving up to Portland and back from the Bay Area with a very young baby. The time and effort that long haul takes -- and in an EV no less -- was true dedication!
The move was motivated by a new job offer, and making a home in Portland was their top priority. We made the most of the time they were here as we saw every option in their price range that would satisfy the needs of their family. We’d refuel here and there with Harlow smoothies, snacks, and always a few cups of coffee.
The houses we toured were all fantastic potential options, but nothing was quite right. Then, it happened!
Through my relationships and connections, I was able to present the buyers with the opportunity to view an off-market, luxury property before it became publicly available, giving them access to a remarkable home that would have otherwise been missed due to timing. Within 48 hours we had toured it twice and promptly submitted an offer to purchase.
The property is a true show-stopper. Custom designer finishes and styling throughout the more than 4,400 square feet. Five bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, three beautiful fireplaces, a gorgeous Japanese inspired landscape and a thoughtful and stylish kitchen. It also has a Dwell worthy detached ADU and expansive decks with views on views, including frame-worthy shots of both Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens. Plus it has walkability to some of the loveliest parks and trails our city has to offer.
As the clients shared in their thoughtful review, the experience of working with me felt organized, proactive, and seamless from start to finish. In my opinion, that is exactly how a transaction should feel.
It really means the world to me to be hired and trusted to help anyone buy or sell real estate. And when I’m lucky enough to have clients who are people you respect, admire and enjoy as much as I do "N" and "O," it’s extra special.
